The 60's: A Decade of Change
If you remember flower power, the ‘I’m Backing Britain’ campaign, Emergency ward 10, and dancing to the Beatles, The Shadows, Matt Monro, or the Crystals at your local Palais de dance on a Saturday night or the cold winter of 1962/3 which people believed would never end, then this is the talk for you!
There is nostalgia in abundance for those lucky to have lived in Britain during this never to be forgotten decade. For those born after the era of kaftan coats, mods, and rockers Watneys party 7’s and screaming Lord Sutch, then this is a glimpse of how we lived during the swinging ’60s.
This was also a decade of great change throughout the World, and we look back at these events that helped shape Britain over the remainder of the twentieth century.
The talk also presents the opportunity for viewers to share their memories of this unique period of British History, for example, can you remember what you were doing when the news of President Kennedy’s assassination was broadcast on British TV?
Travel back to the news and people of this era and how they helped shape and create the Britain we see today.
